Session Title: Synthetic Muscle™: Ras Labs Electroactive Polymers that Contract and Expand

The Synthetic Muscle Session will provide an overview of Ras Labs' electroactive polymer (EAP) based materials and actuators, covering their shape-morphing abilities (contraction-expansion at low voltage), sensing abilities, and force attenuation. EAP samples and prototypes of EAP based prosthetic liners and sensing robotic grippers will be shown, as well as a mock up of the Synthetic Muscle Experiment that was flown on the International Space Station (Ras Labs' EAPs are also very robust to extreme environments).

Free Parking.  Ras Labs has free all day parking.
Ras Labs is located at 300 Congress Street, Quincy MA  02169.  We are on the 4th floor in Suite 405. We are conveniently located near I-93 and Route 3, and we are a 10 minute walk to the Quincy Adams red-line MBTA station.

Ras Labs

Ras Labs makes Synthetic Muscle™: robust electroactive polymer (EAP) based materials and actuators that contract and expand at low voltage, sense pressure (gentle touch and high impact), and attenuate force, for prosthetics, athletic/protective gear, and robotic linkages and grippers. Products incorporating Ras Labs’ EAPs use inherent sensing to facilitate a dynamic interface between human bodies and prosthetic devices or personal... Read More →
